The 'Gel-Lyte III' was first introduced in 1990 as a performance runner and quickly gained recognition and love from the casual sneakerheads and the runners around the world. With this stunning and Made in Japan rendition, Asics is paying homage to 30 years of the 'Gel-Lyte' silhouette. Constructed from 'kobe beef' leather uppers, the 'sakura' colourway is a nod to Japan's cherry blossom season.
The Gel Lyte III is a classic before the Lord. Not often seen on the streets, he is definitely one of the most comfortable sneakers among collectors and enthusiasts. Legendary for its split tongue to which provides the necessary extra comfort. Unbeatable on a daily basis! Check out all Asics Gel-Lyte III styles here: Asics Gel-Lyte III Overview.
In terms of flaws, the GEL under Asics logo on the back of the shoe is a little low, but it honestly doesn't bother me. And compared to the retail ones, the blue is a little darker than the originals, but apparently if you brush some baby powder on it, the results are good (I personally don't mind the color difference, I'm an old fart and I don't have any sneakerhead friends).
I have done a lot of research on the Asics Gel-Lyte III. I have found that the shoe does run narrow, and that when ordered TTS, the shoe is way too small and nearly unwearable. On the contrary, some say that TTS is the only way to go. Some recommend going half a size bigger to ensure that the shoe isn't too snug, while some say half a size bigger is too big. My only concern with buying this.
